Our Essential Beliefs

The Bible Is Inspired

We believe the Scriptures of the entire Bible are verbally inspired of God. They are God’s revelation of himself to us and are our guide for our faith, belief, and manner of living. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)

One True God

We believe there is one true God. He has always existed (Isaiah 43:10) and is the Creator of heaven and earth (Genesis 1:1). We believe in the Trinity that God has revealed himself as a single Being (Deuteronomy 6:4) consisting of three interrelated persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22).

God The Father

We believe in God the Father: an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love; that He cares about us; and that He hears and answers prayer. (Matthew 6:9; Isaiah 6:3; Romans 11:33-39; Psalms 138:5-6; Matthew 7:11)

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is and has always been God (Revelation 1:8). He became a man, born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:23). He lived a sinless life (1 Peter 2:22). He died on the cross for all of our sins (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21) and was raised from the dead (1 Corinthians 6:14). Now, He is exalted and seated at the right hand of God (Phillipians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3).

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit came from the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; and to renew, sanctify and empower all who believe in Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit lives in every believer and is our Helper, Teacher and Guide. We believe all Biblical gifts of the Spirit are for today. (John 15:26, 16:8; Titus 3:5; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13; John 14:16; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11)

The Fall Of Mankind

We believe mankind was created good in the image of God. Mankind, though, by willful choice disobeyed God. As a result, mankind fell from innocence and goodness and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:17, 3:6; Romans 5:12-19)

The Salvation Of Mankind

We believe God provides salvation for all. Salvation is received when person repents to God of his sins, believes in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and gives control of his life to God. (Romans 10:9) The inner evidence of salvation is the witness of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:16) The outward evidence is a life that is being transformed into the character of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18)

The Church

We believe the Church is the living spiritual body of Christ composed of everyone who has received salvation. The Church is composed of many local churches located all over the world. We believe the mission of the Church is to evangelize the lost, worship God, disciple believers and show compassion. (1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 4:11-16; Matthew 28:19-20)

Church Ordinances

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ commanded two ordinances to the Church: Water Baptism and Communion. We practice Water Baptism by immersion and our Communion is open to all believers. (Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30; Luke 3:3)

The Baptism In The Holy Spirit

We believe the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift from God for all believers. It is separate from and follows salvation (Acts 8:12-17, 10:44-46, 11:14-16, 15:7-9). As an overflow of the Holy Spirit, it provides power for victorious Christian living and for evangelism. With the Baptism a believer is empowered to operate in the gifts of the Spirit and receives the initial physical sign of speaking in a language they have never learned. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4, 8; 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31)

The Ministry

We believe involvement in ministry in response to a divine call is Scripturally ordained in the Bible. It is a provision of our Lord for the four-fold purpose of leading the Church in; (1) evangelization of the world (Mark 16:15-20), (2) worship of God (John 4:23-24), (3) building a body of believers conforming to the life of Christ (Ephesians 4:11, 16) and (4) showing compassion (Mark 9:41).

Divine Healing

We believe divine healing from God is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in Christ’s suffering and death on the cross. Healing is a privilege of all believers (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:14-16).
